Child rape is rampant in this society of ours, no matter how often we try to deny it. It’s too present. What’s even scarier is how, when it happens, we try to sweep it under the rug.
An 11-year-old has shared how she was raped by a neighbour whose offer of ₦50 she refused.
She told her father about it, she shared, and the case was reported to the police.
But the story isn’t over. Her abuser and other neighbours tried to make her change her statement: tell the police that her father raped her instead.
